Fixed Wireless, Satellite and Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) are the emerging areas that are vying for a place in the home broadband market, besides cable and DSL.

Satellite service may be the only option for accessing high-speed Internet in rural areas, whereas FTTH offers the best technological solution for reaching the 100 Mbps ‘dream’ levels. Fixed wireless is expensive to install and there are ‘line-of-sight’ limitations. However, next-gen wireless technologies are expected to offer solutions to all these issues.
